Rural & remote Appalachia is prime to be a global leader in clean energy resources and circular economy practices. In collaboration with a team of stakeholders, we're proud to support this endeavor in response to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s OCED/ERA RFI.
CSB staff, along with William Alexander Sapon, President of Tri-Sector Associates and alum of the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business, prepared and submitted an RFI response in collaboration with thought leaders from the University of Pittsburgh, the Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), the Ohio River Valley Institute, the Steel Valley Authority, the Heartland Capital Strategies, the ReImagine Appalachia Coalition, In2Market Inc., Resilient Cities Catalyst and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI).
Since the release of the Marshall Plan for Middle America Roadmap (#MP4MA), the Center for Sustainable Business has continued to consult with stakeholders, thought leaders, and local policymakers across 9 major metro areas in Middle America to facilitate opportunities for all stakeholders in the region to thrive. Together we can support a just transition to a circular economy and support the #Appalachian region in becoming a global leader in clean energy resources.
