"Metrics for Assessing Decarbonization in the Region"
Held on November 23, 2022, the ESG Rosetta Stone lunch and learn included discussions about the metrics needed in order to assess strategies toward a just decarbonization transition. After a keynote by Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, Panelists Vanessa Miler-Fels and Caroline Narich unpacked:
- The need for a centralized action plan for decarbonization in the United States and the difficulties in creating such a document.
- The use of human capital and social impact as a type of metric in assessing decarbonization and climate impact.
- The main challenges for supply chain carbon accounting and emission reduction and how technology can play a bigger role in making it more manageable.
